Jayla is a lifelong athlete and coach. She is currently the exercise physiologist for THR in the cardiac rehab facility. She began training in gymnastics when she was just 2 years old and continued to achieve Level 9 competition in the USAG Nationals. Jayla began coaching competitive gymnastics at the age of 12, while still actively training and competing, and has coached for most of her life.
Her coaching experience includes tenure as an assistant coach for Division 1 colleges New Mexico State and The University of Arizona, Head Coach at Cruces Gymnastics Academy, and over ten years at Gymnastics Plus in Southlake, Texas where she helped many gymnasts and cheerleaders refine their skills and qualify for collegiate and advanced level athletics.
In addition to gymnastics, Jayla also excelled in High School track, pole-vaulting and cheerleading and competed and coached for NCA Cheerleading while attending New Mexico State University. Jayla graduated college having achieved Bachelors of Science degrees in both Exercise Physiology and Microbiology including Dance, Coaching, and Nutrition Minors.
After college, Jayla began Fitness Competition competing in Fitness, Figure, and Physique Divisions earning her IFBB Pro Card in 2013 and is an active current Competitor in the IFBB Pro League. Jayla is also a certified Personal Trainer and Holistic Nutritionist.
